EHC Kloten signs Brandon Gignac and Lukáš Klok

Brandon Gignac (#37) will not renew his contract with the Laval Rocket. He has signed with Swiss team EHC Kloten (the same team where David Reinbacher has played).

Here is the information from Kloten, in english (translated from German on their web site):

EHC Kloten is strengthening its roster for the upcoming season with two new additions: Canadian center Brandon Gignac and Czech defenseman Lukas Klok are joining the team. Gignac signs a two-year contract, while Klok is signed for one season.

Brandon Gignac is a dynamic center with strong vision, a precise and powerful shot, and high game intelligence. The 27-year-old Canadian impresses with his speed and technical skills. "Brandon fits perfectly into our DNA, playing with a lot of speed and creativity," says sporting director Ricardo Schödler.

Lukáš Klok, 30, is a modern defenseman with offensive qualities, a robust physique, and reliable defensive work. The left-handed shooter brings international experience from the KHL, the Czech Extraliga, the Swedish SHL, and the national team – most recently, he played for SC Bern in the National League. Sporting Director Ricardo Schödler: "Lukáš will help us in all zones and will give us additional stability."

Both players bring not only athletic quality, but also a strong work ethic and leadership off the ice. They will make important contributions to the continued development of our team.

EHC Kloten warmly welcomes Brandon Gignac and Lukáš Klok to Kloten.

Gignac, who was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 2016 (at #80 in the 3rd round), played 8 games in the NHL for the Devils and the Canadiens. In the AHL with the Rocket, in 2023-2024 he played 61 games, scoring 19 goals, 36 assists for 55 points and a +/- of +2. His 2024-2025 didn't go as well due to injury where he only played 15 games.
